Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1 turnip
- 1 potatoes, pared
- 1 carrot
- 1 head of celery
- 3 pints water
- 1 slice of bread, toasted and buttered
Procedure
- Boil the onion, turnip, potatoes, carrot, and celery in the water until the vegetables are cooked.
- Insert the bread into a bowl. Pour the soup over it.
