How to Contribute
Contribution Options
You can contribute to the ORCID Advocacy Toolkit in two ways:
Direct submission: Create your content and submit to the Editorial Board for review
Self-authoring: Request contributor access to add your content directly (subject to editorial review)
Submission Process
- Prepare your content: Following the guidelines in the Authoring Guide
- Email the editorial board:
- Include your contact information
- Specify the toolkit section where your content belongs
- Describe how your contribution helps ORCID advocacy
- Email your submission to help@jisc.ac.uk with the subject line "ORCID Advocacy Toolkit"
Review process: The OAT-ED will review your submission within 2 weeks
- You may receive feedback and requests for revisions
- Once approved, content will be published with attribution
For Self-Authors
If you prefer to add content directly:
- Request access:
- Email help@jisc.ac.uk with the subject line "ORCID Advocacy Toolkit" including:
- Your name and institution
- Brief description of content you wish to contribute
- Previous experience with Wikibooks (if any)
- Receive credentials: We'll provide editing access and basic training
- Add your content: Follow the Authoring Guidelines and technical instructions
- Notify the Editorial Board: Let us know when your contribution is ready for review
Content Ownership and Licensing
All contributions are published under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License Contributors retain attribution but grant permission for adaptation and reuse Institutional contributions should include appropriate acknowledgments
