On 19 October, Kota Bangun Darat and West Samboja (Samboja Barat) were created as two youngest districts in the Kutai Kartanegara Regency. At the moment, they were consisted of the following villages:[1][2]

Kota Bangun Darat West Samboja
  1. Benua Baru
  2. Kedang Ipil
  3. Kota Bangun I
  4. Kota Bangun II
  5. Kota Bangun III
  6. Sarinadi
  7. Sedulang
  8. Suka Bumi
  9. Sumber Sari
  10. Wono Sari

All of above are desa.

  1. Amborawang Darat
  2. Amborawang Laut
  3. Argosari
  4. Bukit Merdeka
  5. Karya Merdeka
  6. Margo Mulyo
  7. Salok Api Darat
  8. Salok Api Laut
  9. Sungai Merdeka
  10. Tani Bakti

All of them are kelurahan, except Tani Bakti (desa).
