Aerococcaceae, from Ancient Greek ἀήρ (aḗr), meaning "air", and κόκκος (kókkos), meaning "berry", are a family of Gram-positive lactic acid bacteria,[1][2] including the bacterium that causes gaffkaemia in lobsters.[3]
