The COVID-19 pandemic in Chad was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was confirmed to have reached Chad in March 2020. As the third least developed nation in the world, according to the HDI in 2019,[3] Chad has faced unique economic, social, and political challenges under the strain of the COVID-19 pandemic.
