The COVID-19 pandemic in Reunión was a part of the pandemic of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that was caused by the Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) and which was confirmed to have reached the French overseas department and region of Réunion on 11 March 2020.[3] On 20 May 2020, the first death was announced.[4]
