Colwellia is a genus of deep-sea psychrophilic, piezophilic, and facultative anaerobic bacteria from the family Colwelliaceae.[1][2][3][4][5] Colwellia can survive at subzero temperatures by producing cryoprotective polymeric substances.[6]
