Mannheimia ruminalis is a species of Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic bacteria belonging to the family Pasteurellaceae. It was first described by Angen et al. in 1999 following a taxonomic revision of the former Pasteurella haemolytica complex based on DNA–DNA hybridization and 16S rRNA gene sequencing.[1]
