Pelobacter acetylenicus is a strictly anaerobic Gram-negative rod-shaped non-sporeforming bacterium of the genus Pelobacter. It was isolated from marine and freshwater sediments and can use acetylene (ethyne) as its sole source of carbon and energy.[2]
