Postorgasmic illness syndrome (POIS) is a syndrome involving chronic physical and cognitive symptoms following orgasm.[1] The symptoms usually onset within seconds, minutes, or hours, and last for up to a week.[1] The cause and prevalence are unknown;[2] it is considered a rare disease.[3] It typically affects men but in rare instances can affect women.[1]
